Details: “Piano for Preschoolers” Lessons runs all year round, and you can sign up anytime of the year. This piano program will stimulate your child’s learning and creativity process, buy utilizing various teaching methods including: Visual, audio and kinesthetic methods.

Your Child Will Learn:

• Short simple songs
• Proper posture
• How to distinguish left hand from right hand
• With color and number games, children begin to learn counting and reading notes
• High sounds from low sounds
• Seven letter names of the musical alphabet
• Call and response, clap back rhythms
• Ear training
• Ability to identify all white and black keys letter names

Ages: 5 and up

Lesson Times: 30 min. 45 min. 1 hour

Details: At Groove Academy – School of Music, we provide a flexible customized piano curriculum that is truly tailored to the student’s goals and needs. We guarantee, regardless of direction or the style of music the student wishes to study, our students will learn and understand specific concepts within a specific period of time, and will achieve their goals!!
Students choose to study piano lessons through:

• Pop, Rock, R&B,
• Jazz Piano Studies
• RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music)

All of our students learn through: visual, audio and kinesthetic aids. We cater to how a student learns best, which guarantees the best results in the fastest amount of time.

Students Will Learn:

• Posture, finger technique
• Songs in any style
• Etudes and performance pieces, (if studying classical music)
• Music theory games and exercises
• Treble and bass clef
• Counting rhythms
• Stage etiquette
• Scales, triads, arpeggios, dominant, diminished 7th cords
• Studies through: RCM, Suzuki, jazz or contemporary
• RCM Exams – preliminary to grade 3 (optional, if stying classical)
• Performance preparation
• Regular performances are scheduled along with scholarship opportunities around Calgary AB, nationally and internationally

Our Intermediate Piano Lessons program takes you to the next level!! A bit more serious and focused, this program involves a wider spectrum of knowledge on the piano and our ability to perform at a higher level. Whether you choose to study Pop, Rock, R&B, Classical, or Jazz, this program will challenge students to a new level, having you achieve more, gain more confidence on the piano, and feel more confident as player on and off stage.

Our Advanced Piano Lessons program are for the serious minded student. At this level students are expected to commit 100% dedication and focus on the piano. Students at this level dedicate 2-4 hours (minimum), of focused practice per day, no excuses. Students are also expected to perform on a regular basis at local, national and international festivals, competitions and recitals. We expose and offer students multiple scholarship opportunities throughout the year. The competition at this level, is fierce.

Before a student signs up for this program, a serious discussion is had between the instructor, the student and parents. It is truly rewarding to be at this level of piano playing, but 100% dedication is expected in order to be successful.
